Boston Brown Bread - Grandma Rackers
A classic at our family Christmas gatherings!
Ingredients
2 cups raisins 2 Tbsp margarine 2 tsp baking soda 2 cups boiling water Let this stand for 3 hours Then add: 4 cups sifted flour 2 cups sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla 2 well beaten eggs 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
Directions
Mix all ingredients and bake in 6 #2 cans. Grease lightly. Flour cans and put wax paper in bottom of cans. Bake in oven at about 350 for 1 hour
